Individual Therapy
Collaborative process between therapist and client to improve your well-being and overcome obstacles in your life. In individual therapy, we will work together to develop new skills to help reach your goals. I will provide support along the way, but I focus on allowing clients to direct the flow of treatment.
Couples Therapy
Psychotherapy that aims to help couples work on improving their relationship by helping resolve conflicts in their relationship, improve communication, and reconnect.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Psychotherapy aimed at learning to identify and change negative thinking patterns that negatively impact emotions and behaviors. We will explore underlying negative thoughts that lead to negative emotions, negative behaviors and negative consequences. By challenging and working to changes those negative thoughts, we work to change the feelings, behaviors and consequences for more contentment and balance in your life.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
DBT focuses on 4 skill sets including emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness and mindfulness. Emotional regulation skills help manage emotional responses and change negative or unwanted emotions. Distress tolerance skills allow you to make it through an emotional incident without making it worse. Interpersonal effectiveness skills focus on healthy communication and healthy boundaries for more satisfying relationships. And mindfulness skills focus on staying present in the moment. Since many distressful emotions tend to lead us to reacting to the past or the future, mindfulness allows us to experience the here and now.
EMDR Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy, or EMDR, is a specialized technique that facilitates reprocessing distressful or traumatic memories. The process involves developing resources and using bilateral stimulation to reduce symptoms of emotional distress from these experiences.
